Testing New Production Environments in our Technology Center

At Horizon Systems, we’re focused on building Smarter Process Systems — no matter the production environment. Our Technology Center has the capability to simulate many different production environments, developing tested solutions for our customers since its commission in 2023. Recently, we were approached by a customer who needed to add a special agglomerate to their process, and knew we had to find a solution. The special agglomerate posed its own unique challenges — being made from compressed materials meant it had to remain unchanged and in the same configuration when transferred between process points. Consistency was a must! It also needed to be handled gently to eliminate separation and the need for explosion prevention. The test required a vacuum transfer of the agglomerate via a 3-inch line, which was not available, as the smallest line at the time was 4 inches. To accommodate our customer’s needs, we hung a parallel 3-inch line to do the test and for future flexibility. After making these adjustments, the test was a success for us and our customer!
